A brand new model for 2019, the 317e features Taylor's new Grand Pacific body shape, a round-shoulder dreadnought voiced with Taylor's ground-breaking new V-Class Bracing System. (Find out more about V-Class Bracing at the link below.)
"Notes blend smoothly together to produce a warm and seasoned acoustic voice with clear low-end power." The 317e is built with solid Sapele back and sides paired with a solid Sitka Spruce top, the guitar’s tonal response sits comfortably between the dry, focused character of mahogany and the harmonically complex sound of rosewood. The Grand Pacific body's wider waist produces a strong bass response, but without the woofiness that can sometimes plague bigger-body guitars. Altogether the guitar's body shape and tonewood combination results in a rich dynamic tone with notes that overlap into a seamless whole, along with the properties of V-Class Bracing making the sound louder, more in-tune, and longer sustaining. The guitar also features a mahogany neck with a 25.5" scale length and satin finish, responsibly sourced ebony fingerboard and lovely streaky ebony headstock overlay, and "Gemstone" Italian Acrylic fret inlays. The 317e is fitted with Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics, their breakthrough behind-the-saddle transducer pickup which purely amplifies the true sound of the guitar. This new Taylor guitar is a versatile tool for jamming with other musicians, playing alongside a vocalist, or embarking on solo adventures. The guitar comes with a new "Western Floral" Taylor Hardshell Case.
