This 714ce is a limited edition Roadshow Exclusive for 2017, featuring book matched Koa back and sides and a torrefied Sitka Spruce top. The 714ce boasts Taylor's most popular and versatile body shape, the Grand Auditorium. This shape lends itself perfectly to strummers, flatpickers, and fingerstyle players alike. Hawaiian Koa as a tonewood initially produces a bright and focused tone, which matures into an increasingly warm, rich, sweet sound the more the guitar is played. The Sitka spruce top has been treated with a special seasoning process called torrefaction. This involves roasting the spruce to produce an aged tonal character with more acoustic resonance and responsiveness. The bridge and fingerboard are both made from ebony, ethically sourced from Taylor's own ebony mill in Cameroon. The guitar is equipped with Taylor's Expression System 2 electronics - their breakthrough behind-the-saddle transducer which truly amplifies the natural sound of each individual guitar. This 714ce LTD also features some gorgeous aesthetic embellishments. The torrefied spruce top has a shaded edgeburst finish, with a tortoise pickguard to complement, and the guitar is also fitted with ebony/abalone bridge pins, and has an abalone rosette.
